LWVFF - What do you feel sets you apart from the other candidate for Judge of Probate?
KNM - In a word, experience. As the attorney who has managed the Fairfield Probate Court for over twenty years, there are very few circumstances I haven't seen or issues I haven't resolved. I am a recognized expert in probate law, and I am regularly called upon by attorneys throughout the state for my extensive knowledge of Connecticut's probate statutes. In addition, during the 20 years that I served in the Court with the late Judge Dan Caruso, I assisted the Judge when he called on me to help formulate decisions in difficult cases and in fact I wrote many of the decisions which were issued by the Court. I have therefore had the opportunity to actually do much of the work that a Probate Court Judge does on a daily basis and my tremendous experience simply cannot be matched by anyone who has not worked in the Probate Court as I have.

Also, as a result of my work in the Probate Court over the last two decades, I am well-connected throughout the vast network of local and state agencies, as well as in the mental health community, and am therefore uniquely positioned to provide critical contacts and connections to services and support for Fairfield residents. Through my extensive experience, I have developed a keen appreciation for the needs of those who come into contact with the Probate Court and how best to handle their needs in a sensitive and compassionate manner. Having focused on Probate matters throughout my 35-year career as an attorney, my experience, expertise and demonstrated compassion far outweigh those of my opponent.
